In the Czech context, sauna is a rather intimate affair, but it also brings an important social aspect. This contrast is reflected in these two objects as well – the underground sauna as a social affair and the outdoor showers for personal cleansing as an intimate affair.

The sauna house style, which relates to the rest of the village, opens with a large window towards a cooling pond and the surrounding countryside. People enjoying a sauna here have a pleasant experience enhanced by the view of a picturesque scenery. The interior of the cave-style sauna contrasts wooden benches with artificial stone.

To add to the comfort of the cooling pond, three pairs of outdoor showers have been added, arranged around a small square with a beautifully grown plane tree. The showers are angled to avoid unwanted views from other visitors. This creates an intimate space for personal cleansing, which is subtly lit in the evening.
