Listed buildings should be preserved in their qualities and at the same time their protection should not prevent their full function. In the event that the technical design of any part of the building exhibits major irreparable defects that prevent safe use of the building, we are authorized to remedy the defects, with an effort to get as close as possible to the original artistic expression. After much discussion, we came to this conclusion concerning the American windows, which had to be made new, as close to the original profiles as possible.

Elements that are completely missing but can be traced to their original appearance, or for which there is a model elsewhere in the building, are to be added. A similar procedure was followed for the lower part of the entrance portal, where we were additionally able to hide the new opening mechanism under the floor, thus preserving the original purity of the product.
